Junior High is an important step for each student as they transition from elementary school to high school.  This is a time when educational expectations rise; as well, students are experiencing the social and biological changes that are inherent in puberty.  Students are introduced to social skills and begin to master the knowledge and techniques that will be needed and further developed in high school.  The curriculum is more differentiated than in the younger elementary years.  The students learn to work with different teachers and in various classroom settings.  They are learning to organize their time (assignments and homework) and their space (desks & lockers); they are given leadership opportunities (helping in younger grades, leading in Chapel, taking supervisory roles).
